An assigned-school check appears only when an official district source produces one unique match. Current coverage includes official street directories for Quincy, Lynn, and Worcester plus Newton’s official school-zone GIS layer; Newton buffer zones show both possible schools for district confirmation.
Compare relative MCAS results
Schools serving the selected grade are ranked against one another using official 2025 MCAS Meeting or Exceeding Expectations results. For an untested grade, the next available tested grade is used; Grades 11–12 use Grade 10.

What is a Chapter 74 program?
Massachusetts Chapter 74 programs are state-approved career technical education programs that combine academic learning with technical preparation. Availability differs by school and region.
When a desired program is not offered through a student’s primary vocational pathway, Massachusetts provides a nonresident application process. A student must be admitted by the receiving school and receive tuition approval from the resident district or the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on review.

What does the assigned-school check mean?
The check means the submitted street address and grade produced one match from a current official source integrated into the finder. A ZIP code or municipality alone cannot establish a campus assignment because either can contain several attendance areas.
When authoritative campus-level data is unavailable, the finder lists the public schools serving the grade without labeling any one of them as assigned. District registration staff and official school locators remain the final authority, and assignments may also depend on programs, capacity, or individual student circumstances.

How are relative rankings calculated?
The ranking compares only the schools displayed for the selected district and grade. Each percentage combines the available subject results for the comparison grade, weighted by the number of tested students, using the share Meeting or Exceeding Expectations.
MCAS results describe performance on statewide assessments, not every part of a school experience. They should be considered alongside student growth, programs, school climate, services, accessibility, and a family’s individual priorities.
